ET Takes Time to Reconnect

The staff of ET Environmental recently gathered at the historic Hotel Viking in Newport, RI, for the company’s annual Operations Meeting. This three-day conference brings staff members together to present best practices of design and construction and discuss ways to improve all areas of operations, management, and administration. Topics presented by ET employee experts included the Natural Gas for Transportation Vehicle Repair Garage Guidelines report completed for the WI State Energy Office, the process of how a High BTU landfill gas project works, critical elements of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel station design and construction, and construction progress on a transfer and recycling facility that will process commercial, single-stream, and green waste. Additional topics included ET’s national CNG maintenance shop conversion for the company’s largest client and other public and private sector clients who have turned to ET for assessment of their existing facilities. Human Resources introduced new initiatives to continuously improve internal communications and employee satisfaction as well as benefit updates, and Marketing staff discussed the educational and networking benefits of natural gas vehicle trade shows across the country, results on community and industry outreach, and website changes.

Don't Forget the Fun!

The ET team was also able to work in some time for fun and team building during activities such as an Iron Chef competition, a lobster boil and a sailing excursion on the 72-foot Schooner Madeleine around Newport Harbor. President Bill Higginbotham encourages all employees to attend the meeting from the newest support personnel to the executive level management. “Each individual brings value to the team and we can all learn from each other. In a time when so much communication is done electronically, it’s important to come together face to face and reconnect.”
